Future Rites

Currently a prototype 11 minute immersive performance experience which invites you to take part in one of the most famous and controversial ballet’s in history - Igor Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring. Originally created in 1913 and provoking riots at its premiere, it continues to be performed across the world thanks to its earth-shattering musical score and timeless themes of nature community and sacrifice.

In Future Rites, we put you right at the heart of the action, at times through the experience you’ll control ‘mirror’ characters whose movements resemble those of the performer driven characters around you.

My role in this has been the Design and Art Direction of the prototype builds shown at the London Film Festival and SXSW. Using my learnings from the MLF & RS Dream project, I was able to design and build the 11 minute prototype as a functioning VR piece, along with live motion captured dancers.
